Q: Do I have to do anything for my students to use Turnitin?

A: Yes. Just create a Bb Turnitin assignment and set the display until date and your students can check their work.

Q: Is Turnitin the only plagiarism prevention tool available at Babson?

A: Currently, yes, Turnitin is the only Babson sponsored plagiarism prevention tool available. There are a number of free tools out there - check with your Babson Library Liaison for more information.

Q: I heard it is better for students to upload their work on their own - is this true and why?

A: Yes it is true. Turnitin collects each submission into their database, and the document stays there forever. Due to this, it is very important not to duplicate submissions and we have found if a student submits the work on their own, there is less of a chance the submission will be duplicated.

Q: Do I need to do anything for my students to be able to see their originality reports?

A: Yes. By default your Blackboard Turnitin site will not allow students to see their originality reports. You can edit this preference by access the Login to Turnitin link in your Blackboard tools menu, access the preferences link and enabling the option. Please note this is on a Blackboard course basis - so you need to do this for each of your Bb courses you use Turnitin for.
